Axel Gillis Hafstrom, born 3 January 1841 in Gothenburg , died in 1909 , was a Swedish artist . He studied at Chalmers crafts school and then 1861-1865 at the Art Academy . 1866-1867 he was the regular teacher of drawing at Uppsala upper elementary grammar school. 1870-1875 he spent mainly in Dusseldorf and 1877-1878 in Paris , where he also studied the art of restoring oil paintings. Agre of the Art Academy in 1879. He painted many genre paintings .
